1608.00

1608.00 is now released. This is the first release made by Menche; the reason for the unusually long delay between 1604.00 and 1608.00 is that darkrose lost interest in voxelands development and decided to make me the maintainer rather than let it die.

This release includes miscellaneous code improvements, and a wide assortment of new types of block including fancy columns and corner stairs (thanks to Emon for the new blocks). There is also now a command /adduser that can be used by server admins to add new users.

Source archives for this release are available from my site at menche.us, as darkrose still operates the main voxelands.com website.

This post will be edited when builds become available.

I use a Vultr VPS (shameless referrer link).

Re: 1608.00

+1

When will the win builds appear for version 1608.00?

It is a pity to hear that darkrose ceases as a developer.

Re: 1608.00

I regret that darkrose leaves off developing voxelands. Thanks to her for all the fantastic work she has done. Congratulations and thanks, too, Menche, for taking over maintaining the project. Good luck!

Re: 1608.00

Normally you can download the game from the main site, but 1608 have just been realeased, and need to be made ready for several OS's.
So currently there are for many OS's no downloads available

Re: 1608.00

It's very sad to miss darkrose... Just hope the original concept of the game will remain the same.

I'm joining Wuzzy's request about updating Transifex resource file.

I'd also suggest to use GitLab's issue tracker to manage bug reports and feature requests (instead of forum thread). It will provide more cleaner view of that should or could be done and could attract more code / art contributions.

Re: 1608.00

I actually hate her as she's not a good problem solver(darkrose).where as menche is kind and listens to everyone's problems

Re: 1608.00

AFAIK GitLab could be used to publish releases - tarballs or binary files could be attached to the tag's release notes. Do you have master (admin) rights on voxelands' project on GitLab, Menche?

Re: 1608.00

I just tried installing via AUR on Arch, but it can't find the tar from the site it's trying to download it from. I tried a couple other versions and they don't work either.  Just wanted to give you a heads up in case you were unaware.
