Howto compile Voxelands on BananaPi (Raspberry PI similar device)

Hello everyone,

since Iam trying to set up a little homeserver for the family, i want to use my bananapi for that purpose.

while "cmake -DRUN_IN_PLACE=1 -DENABLE_AUDIO=0 -DBUILD_CLIENT=0" i get

" (...) could not find Freetype (missing: FREETYPE_INCLUDE_DIRS)"

but "libfreetype6" and "libfreetype6-dev" are both installed.

How can i fix this?
If someone steps aside, Iam willing to complete this howto, so others can use it to build voxelands on a bananapi / raspberrypi or whatever arm-like device is out there.

Greetings,

Re: Howto compile Voxelands on BananaPi (Raspberry PI similar device)

So, after visiting the really nice IRC-Channel (irc://irc.entropynet.net/voxelands) i've come a step closer to success.
With the parameter  "-DENABLE_FREETYPE=0" it ignores the not found stuff and cmake runs trough.
A more complex way of solving the issue is to tell cmake where to look for the missing files (but you have to know your system which not everybody, me included, does).
"cmake . -DFREETYPE_INCLUDE_DIRS=/usr/include/freetype/" where "/usr/include/freetype/" must be the path to freetype (wherever it might be)

Re: Howto compile Voxelands on BananaPi (Raspberry PI similar device)

To bring this topic to an end: I've prepared everything on the bananaPi with this command:

$ cmake -DRUN_IN_PLACE=1 -DENABLE_AUDIO=0 -DBUILD_CLIENT=0 -DENABLE_FREETYPE=0 .

and it just went fine. After that I hit

$ make -j2

like it's common and got my voxelands-server binary. After setting up the configuration file

$ mv voxelands.conf.example voxelands.conf

with the desired settings, I've played 2,5 hours with another person without problems with the PI as Server so... the BananaPi is somewhat voxelands-compatible i guess :-)

Confirmed working on a "headless" OrangePI PC - seems like these little ARM boards are something to promote as micro servers!
